Wildflowers - Common Names

This is a list of the species found on this site, in order by the Common Name that is used for each species on this site. Each species appears only once in this list.

A note about Common Names
Common names of plants vary widely from region to region, from person to person, and from book to book. The common names I have used for each species on this website are usually the ones from Newcombe's Wildflower Guide. There are some exceptions, however (for example, what I call Heath Aster (Aster ericoides)is not what is listed as "Heath Aster" in Newcombe's).

I have included in this list all the common names that I am aware of. Therefore, a species may be listed here more than once.
